The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

An adorable yarn ghost craft that’s simple for little hands and the perfect way to get ready for the season of Halloween!

Yarn Ghost Craft

Yarn crafts are my absolute favorite way to keep small hands busy creating something fun through the year. This ghost yarn craft is a neat way to help little kiddos get in the spirit of Halloween.

The ghost of Halloween is real y’all… and these little guys are perfect to string up in your house and use as garland. Or to incorporate in a classroom of kids as a simple Halloween project. With just a few simple materials and some white yarn, you can help kids learn how to master hand-eye coordination as they put together their family of ghosts.

Yarn Ghost Craft

Grab a few simple materials to put together these adorable ghosts:

  • cardboard
  • pencil
  • Scotch Tape
  • yarn (white)
  • googly eyes
  • scissors
  • paper (black)

Yarn Ghost Craft - Step by Step

Start by free hand drawing the ghost on the cardboard. Once cut out, tape a piece of yarn to the ghost and cover the body of the ghost entirely in yarn. Once the ghost is covered in yarn, you can move on to decorating the face with eyes and a mouth.

Yarn Ghost Craft - Step by Step

Past the mouth on the ghost, then apply glue to the googly eyes and affix to the ghost as well.

That’s it! You have completed your first yarn ghost. Feel free to repeat the steps again to make more fun little ghosts that can accompany your kids to Halloween festivities.

Materials

  • 1 pc cardboard
  • 1 roll scotch tape
  • 1 pack white yarn
  • 2 googly eyes
  • 1 pc black construction paper

Instructions

  • Lay out all of your materials.
  • Draw out the shape of a ghost on the cardboard - it doesn't have to be perfect!
  • Tape one end of the white yarn on the front of the cardboard. Wrap it around the cardboard ghost, until the cardboard is completely covered. Then gently knot on the back of the cardboard.
  • Use the black construction paper to cut a mouth out for the ghost. Use a glue stick to glue it on the ghost in the appropriate place.
  • Glue two googly eyes and affix them to the ghost.
  • That's it! Your ghost is done! Repeat if you wish to do more. Or tie a string atop each to use as garland.
