52 Week Savings Challenge: 1 Year to an Established Emergency Fund

Article Series

Do you realize we are in week 51 of our  52 week Money Saving Challenge?  We started December 1, 2014 .. and consistently added a little more to our savings EACH week.

If you are and have been saving along with us, then you should have close to $1,326 in that account.  This past year has been a really great opportunity to get your feet wet into establishing that Emergency Fund. As it progressed, the amounts got a little higher – but nothing is truly THAT far out of reach for most.

We talked about many ways to help you save.. here are just a few:

  • Cut the Cord & Save On your Cable Bill
  • 3 Results of Paying in Cash
  • 7 Ways to Save MORE Right NOW
  • 5 Barriers to Saving Money
  • 5 Ways to Create Better Spending Habits
  • Acorns: Invest your Spare Change from Everyday Purchases

If you found it difficult to save the last 12 months, you might want to re-challenge yourself to start the savings challenge again for 2016.  It really isn’t all too hard – it was more of an emotional commitment than anything else.

Just last week we mentioned that the secret to saving ANY amount of money is making saving an EMOTIONAL priority.. and I strongly believe that to be the case with our Savings Challenge: it’s SO easy, anyone could jump on board with success 1 year later.

Read more about that on our last post... and let us know – did you participate in this challenge? How did you do? Did you save MORE than we had planned? Will you continue to save into 2016?
