The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

SnoBalls Snowmen (Great Holiday Lunch Surprise for Kids)

Article Series

SnoBalls Snowmen

What a fun way to surprise the kids this week… throw them in their lunchbox & wait until Parent Pick Up to see if they mention it (Mom! I LOVED my lunch!) :)

The Hostess SnoBalls come 2 to a pack – and they are on sale at Fry’s this week 10/$10 – just $1.00 per 2 pk or $.50 each. NICE deal!

Pick up a pack of Tic Tacs, and the Wilton Candy Eyes (which are at Fry’s in the Cake Decorating area priced at $3.99) and make these SnoBalls Snowmen for the kids.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pk Hostess SnoBalls (currently 10/$10)
  • Wilton Candy Eyes ($3.99 at Fry’s)
  • Tic Tacs ($1 at Fry’s)
  • Frosting for the Mouth  – they sell Cookie Decorating Frosting in a Pouch

If you’re shopping at Fry’s this week, the Cookie Decorating Frosting is $1.99 ea. WYB 4 – and comes in a pouch you can squeeze – so you can use it for much more than just these snowballs if you want to stretch your purchase.

We used Peanut Butter to paste down the eyes, and Peanut Butter for the mouth, but that’s only because our kids have been pretty wild for Peanut Butter lately (which has been pretty odd because they usually don’t care for it!)

Instructions:

These are EASY to put together!  Just use a little peanut butter or frosting to place 2 candy eyes, and 1 Tic Tac for a nose. Then add the mouth!

We scored a 2 pk of Cupcake Storage Containers at the 99 Only store for $.99 that we used to put them in the lunchboxes.

Kids don’t like Tic Tacs? You can use M&M’s for the Nose too — those are also on sale this week HERE and HERE.
