We’re halfway through October, and we’re getting ready to hit the baking sales for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Over the next month or two, we’ll start to see more great deals on canned soups, baking items and more:
This is a great time to start writing to your favorite baking companies – Libby’s (Pumpkin), Gold Medal, Karo Corn Syrup, Nestle, Fisher Nuts, and more – if you start now, you’ll have time to pick them up over this next month.
Equally as important is writing to beauty companies – they will normally send you coupons for items that you can use in Gift Baskets – Nivea, Eucerin, Secret Deodorant and more. Writing to them is fairly easy – use their online form, and tell them, in just a few sentences, what you like about their product and how you use it at home.
Not all companies will send you coupons – but if you read past experiences from other readers, you can get a good idea of what companies traditionally will.
Over this past year, I have had a running spreadsheet – every time I, myself, get a positive response, or you do, I have logged it on my sheet.
You can find that sheet here, and use it to contact companies that might send you the same. Do note: companies don’t always send the same things to everyone, so keep that in mind.
Then, contact companies using this spreadsheet here – it’s a clickable PDF – start at “A” and work your way down the list – if you haven’t contacted companies in the past, it’s rather easy – being honest is the best route.
If you like a certain product they make, let them know how you feel – a few sentences is all it takes, on their short “contact me form” when you arrive on their website. It’s also a great activity to get your kiddos involved in as well.

Do you then ask for coupons or do you just say how you like there product?

Dont be scared to ask – here’s an example; lets say you love Challenge Butter; there are MANY other kinds of butter you could go buy… but they want you to buy theirs. Ask for coupons – they’ll be more than happy in most cases because it means you’ll buy more of their product :)

Not a question, but a comment: I took your advice from previous posts and wrote companies and the response has been amazing! I love this site, thank you for all your hard work!

Chadwick; I’m so glad!
I know not every company will respond.. but it was definitely worth my time writing. Sometimes I get lazy and find myself forgetting.. but I try to write 1-2 a day. It usually does pay off; I need to contact Libby’s again this year, last year I emailed them and they sent me a link to print 2 – coupons for $1/2 Canned Pumpkin. That’s rare.. it was on sale at CVS for $1 at Thanksgiving so I stocked up on a few.
Thanks for the comment!

So you write them about once a year then? I’ve received great responses so far, thanks for the tip!
