The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

Must Have Items for Traveling Moms ~ TheCentsAbleShoppin.com

Road trips go hand in hand with Summer.  As moms we have lists and a game plan to make the time in the car or plane as smooth as possible for the kids.  We do a LOT of driving. And before we take off…. it takes considerable effort to make sure that every single child has their “stuff” together.

But….. we can’t forget about US either!

We also need to have everything we need to help us help our family.  An exhausted and stressed out Mom will be no fun one the family arrives at the destination.    My kids will tell you that I can be “that” cranky mom, and it’s NO fun to have me around.

Here are some our favorite Trip Must Haves for Mom….

Free Audible 30 Day Trial

But did you also know as if you are an Amazon Prime Member you get a special 3 month trial?

There are many free books to listen too, grab your ear phones and take a few minutes while the kids are entertained.  No one wants to hear Kids movies for the whole trip.

Ear Phones

Make sure to pack a pair for you not just the kids….maybe splurge on a nicer pair for you.

Ear Plugs

If the kids are busy or sleeping or watching a movie.  Pop these in and take a power nap, meditate or just block out noise for a few minutes.  Pack a pair for dad too for when he takes a break.

Sewing Kit

Because its like fate that a button will always fall.  Be ready, I pick them up at the 99 Cent or Dollar Tree Stores.

Kindle Books

If you can read in the car (I can but it depends) make sure to download a few books on your device, pop in your ear plugs and escape for a few.  See our Daily FREE Kindle Book List.

Neck Travel Pillow

No one likes a stiff neck Grab one and be ready – this one is only $7.99 on Amazon.

Pain Reliever

Pick your favorite and make sure to pack it in your purse where you can get to it asap.  I also like to carry Hylands Nerve Tonic for preflight jitters  if you prefer essential oils, make sure to have your go to’s on hand.

Flip Flops/Socks/Slippers

Make sure to be comfy in the car or plane.

Nail Polish Strips/Wraps

No mess and perfect all you need is a file to give yourself a manicure on the go!  I always feel more put together when I have my nails done but I never have time.  You can choose from Jamberry to Sally Hansen to Revlon and I always find fun patterns at the 99 Cent Store for $1.99

Hand and Body Lotion

Your favorite Scent, especially if you are heading to the beach, make sure your skin stays soft.

This is such a great list Sheryl! I seldom pack anything on there, except pain reliever. LOL!
