Looking for a quirky gift or a fun new addition to your guest bathroom? Let me introduce you to one of the most unique bars in my shop!

The Whiskey Bacon Cold Process Soap in all its glory
Here is the thing: I am always looking for ways to make the most of what I have in my kitchen. When I am cooking bacon for the family, I never let that liquid gold go to waste. I save the fat, and that is exactly how the Whiskey Bacon Cold Process Soap came to be in my own little soap shop, Four Peaks Soapery.

A close up of the rich texture of the bar
Now, don’t let the name fool you! While it uses bacon fat and Kentucky Blended southern Whiskey, this soap does not actually smell like a breakfast skillet. Instead, the whiskey gives the bar a lovely, natural scent that you’ll love. It is a conversation starter for sure, and it makes a wonderful little surprise for someone who appreciates the finer, salt-of-the-earth things in life ๐
What makes this bar special?
When it comes to handmade soap, the ingredients really matter for the feel of the bar. I use a blend of beef tallow, castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and that saved bacon fat. Trust me, the combination of lard and tallow is what creates such a rich bar with a lovely lather.
Because of the way it is formulated, this is a very hard bar of soap. That is a big win for anyone who hates it when their soap turns into a mushy mess on the counter after just a few days. It stays firm and lasts, making it a great value for your budget.

The perfect size for a budget-friendly gift
Perfect for budget gifting
I love finding things that feel high-end but don’t break the bank. This bar is way less than a store-bought gift set, but it feels so much more personal because it is handmade. Whether you are putting together a little care package or looking for a quirky stocking stuffer, this is a great choice since it’s a bit different from your standard floral soaps.
Since it is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians, it is a perfect match for the meat-and-potatoes types in your life. It’s a thoughtful touch for a father’s day basket or a funny housewarming gift for a friend who loves to cook.
- Pick up a bar for a coworker’s secret santa
- Add it to a gift basket for a whiskey lover
- Keep one in the guest bath for a bit of personality
- A great ‘just because’ treat for yourself

Adding a little Kentucky charm to the bathroom
How to use and store your soap
To get the most out of your handmade soap, I always recommend keeping it in a place where it can drain well. Since this bar is so rich and hard, it performs beautifully in the shower or at the sink. It feels nice on dry hands after a long day of gardening or cleaning around the house ๐
If you are new to cold process soap, you’ll notice the difference in the lather right away. It’s creamy and satisfying, providing a great wash without the need for expensive, overpriced boutique brands.
I really enjoy creating these unique combinations in the shop. It is all about taking simple, quality ingredients and turning them into something useful and a little bit unexpected. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed making it! ๐
