Meet the Knotweed Salve, a simple and effective addition to your skincare routine. It is a great little find for anyone who loves a handmade balm!

The Knotweed Salve in its handy 2 oz tin
Here is the thing about my own little soap shop, Four Peaks Soapery: I love finding ways to use plants to make things that feel good on the skin. When you are juggling a busy household, kids, and a garden that never seems to stop growing, your hands take a beating. Trust me, there is nothing better than having a reliable salve tucked away in a drawer or your purse for those moments when your skin just feels a bit too dry.

A close up of the smooth texture of the salve
I wanted to share this specific salve with you all because it is such a straightforward, honest product. It is not flashy, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. You’ll love how it feels, and because it comes in a sturdy little tin, it is practically toss-and-go for your daily errands or a quick trip to the grocery store. π
How it is Made
I take a lot of pride in the process behind every tin. For this one, I start by infusing Organic Japanese Knotweed in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This isn’t a rushed process; it sits and infuses for 6 to 8 weeks to make sure we get the best out of those botanicals. After that, I strain the oil and combine it with beeswax before pouring it into the tins.
It is a slow way of doing things, but that is why I believe it is worth the money. You aren’t getting a mass-produced cream filled with things you can’t pronounce. Instead, you get a simple blend of beeswax, olive oil, and Japanese Knotweed. It is just honest, handmade care in a 2 oz tin. π

Ways to Use Your Salve
Because this salve is so versatile, you can keep it almost anywhere. I personally love keeping one in the kitchen for after I’ve been doing dishes or gardening. It feels nice on dry hands and gives you that bit of moisture you need to get through the day without feeling greasy.
- Keep one in your car for road trips when the AC dries out your skin.
- Toss it in your bag as a small splurge for yourself during a stressful work week.
- Add it to a teacher gift basket along with a cute notebook.
- Keep a tin on your nightstand for a quick application before bed.
A Better Value Than Store-Bought
I know we are all looking to save where we can, but I always say that investing in a quality handmade product is a win in the long run. Think about those huge, overpriced gift sets at the mall that are mostly water and fragrance. This salve is concentrated and purposeful. It is way less than a store-bought gift set but offers so much more in terms of actual quality. π
Whether you are buying it for yourself or as a thoughtful little gift for a friend, you know exactly what is going into it. It is a simple, external-use balm that fits perfectly into a budget-minded lifestyle because a little bit goes a long way.
If you are looking for a way to support your skin with something handmade and simple, this is a fantastic choice. I am so proud of how this one turned out, and I think you will really appreciate the care that goes into every single batch. π
