Looking for a little luxury that won’t break the bank? I have the perfect handmade find for you today!

The beautiful natural colors of the Lavender Orange Himalayan Salt Soap
Whenever I am putting together a gift basket for a teacher or a quick hostess thank-you, I always look for those small splurges that feel expensive but actually cost very little. That is exactly where this bar comes in. I make this Lavender Orange Himalayan Salt Soap in my own little soap shop, Four Peaks Soapery, and it is one of those items that just feels special from the moment you hold it.

A close up of the salt texture in the bar
Here is the thing: salt soaps are a bit different from your standard bar. They have a unique texture and a really wonderful way of making your skin feel. If I had to describe this soap as a metaphor, it would be similar to lotion in a bar! It is a great way to treat yourself or a friend without spending a lot of money π
What Makes This Bar Special
This soap is packed with Himalayan Pink sea salt, which helps remove dead skin cells and supports healthy blood circulation. Because I use a high content of coconut oil, I actually raised the superfat on these bars to make sure they are incredibly moisturizing for the skin. It feels absolutely lovely on dry hands after a long day of gardening or cleaning the kitchen.
You will notice the colors are really pretty, but they are all natural. I use Moroccan red clay, calamine powder, and the salt itself to get those hues. Just keep in mind that since they are colored naturally, the shade can fade slightly over time, which is just part of the handmade charm! Trust me, you will love how it lathers up beautifully in the shower π

Perfectly cut bars ready for the shop
The Secret to the Perfect Cut
I will be honest with you: these bars are a bit of a challenge to make! They are incredibly popular, but the process is a total balancing act. Once the batter is poured, it hardens very fast. If I wait too long to cut them, they crumble into a ridiculous mess, but if I cut them too early, they just won’t cut right.
To get them just right, I actually make this soap at a specific time of the day. I set a timer and make sure I am 100% on the ball when it goes off so I can cut at that exact moment. It is a lot of precision, but it is worth it to get a perfect bar that lasts an extraordinarily long time π

A lovely, budget friendly addition to any gift basket
Ways to Use This Budget Find
Since this bar is way less than a store bought gift set, it is perfect for those times when you need a thoughtful gesture on a budget. It is a win for your wallet and a win for the person receiving it!
- Pick up a bar for a coworker’s birthday gift
- Add one to a ‘pamper yourself’ kit for a busy mom
- Use it as a small thank you for a neighbor
- Keep one in your own guest bathroom for a touch of luxury
Just a quick note for my friends who follow a specific diet: this soap is not suitable for those who are vegan or vegetarian. But for everyone else, it is a wonderful way to bring a little bit of a spa day into your home without the spa price tag π
