Through Saturday, pick up grass fed ground beef for up to 68% off at the Green PolkaDot Box.
They sell Organic and Non-GMO foods at wholesale prices, and deliver to your doorstep. They carry many of the popular brands, many of which are Gluten-Free as well.
They do have a yearly membership of $50, or you can go without a membership as well. The yearly membership (which I like to think of as a Costco-style cost) waives the cost of shipping on $75 or more (which would be $9.99). Cold items purchased are $4.99 for shipping…. as they take care of putting it on dry ice.
We pick up our ground beef from them, I buy 20-30 pounds at a time (every 2-3 months).
They have a promotion for $25 off $50 Purchase (First time for Facebook Fans) with code Facebook25.
I love the idea of buy grass fed beef and going the non-processed, no gmo, route and trying a clean diet for myself and my family. So I’m asking from not knowing and just barley getting my feet dirty in this area, but is 6.50 a pound really that good of deal for grass fed ground beef?
Yes, this is typical of what you are going to pay for grass fed ground beef at a local (Phoenix area) farmer’s market. However, the key point to remember is that you can’t rely on the term “grass fed” anymore. It USED to mean that the cow was raised on grass from start to finish. But in reality, all cows are initially raised on grass because it’s the quickest and most economical way for them to gain mass after they are born. Then when it comes near slaughter time, your conventionally raised cattle are fed all the unnatural grains to fatten them up (and also confined so they don’t get to roam around as nature intended). So you need to make sure you are buying grass-FINISHED beef meaning they are 100% pasture raised and not fed foodstuffs that are not a natural part of their diet (grains and soy aren’t).
