Every few weeks I get an update from Dish/DirecTV on some promos they are running for those of you trying to reduce your cable bill.
We cut cable last year, and went without it for a long time – but when Hubby came from Iraq, it was mandatory – last time I posted this many of you did make the switch and saved quite a hefty bit on your cable.
There are two current promos out there now for DirecTV and Dish Network for those of you who might be eager to make the switch, or see how much you can save.
DirecTV-
"THE BIG DEAL" is the current promotion that includes an additional $5 off a month for 12 months for qualify customers and FREE 2012 NFL SUNDAY TICKET with the Choice Xtra package or above and packages starting at $24.99 /mo. Offer runs through 7/18/12.
Dish Network-

Will I be able to get this same deal in Colorado?
I believe you can yes – if I recall last time we had a few out of state and it was yes. I’ll check for you and get back to you asap.
For the dish network? I wont do Direct because they do not offer Local channels in my area.
You make a lot of really good points about the Hopper and here’s why I decided to get it. A co-worker at Dish suggested it after my husband had a fallout with my kids. They were fighting over who gets to record when but the Hopper solved that problem with its three tuners. I can also keep an eye on what they’re watching from the TV viewing status screen. Ever since we upgraded there has been peace in the valley.
Why don’t CBS, FOX, and NBC exec want consumers to enjoy
commercial-free TV? It’s what we want! I’m a customer and employee of Dish, and
I think AutoHop is great because you can easily watch commercial-free TV. A
well known consumer advocacy group, Public Knowledge, agrees that people should
have the right to control how they watch TV. They’re taking a stand for
consumers by creating a petition that tells CBS, FOX, and NBC media to keep
their hands out of your living room and DVR. Sign their petition to keep
control of how you watch TV http://bit.ly/KFdn1Q
