The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

How to Make Homemade Orange Cleaner - The CentsAble Shoppin

Have too many oranges? If you picked too many up, you can put them to good use before they go bad and make homemade orange cleaner…

We NEVER throw any of those peels away…  I have Mason Jars, and we keep the peels in the jar, and top with vinegar, we use it for orange cleaner, and it works really well. I moved away from Plastic Bottles in our house for cleaning and now have glass.

You can read my previous post on picking up bottles for less than $.75 at Walmart. Just make sure you keep the old spray toppers from your other bottles before you throw in the recycle bin – they fit great.  Once you use glass for your spray bottles you will NEVER want to use plastic again… glass is amazing.

The best part about this cleaner is that it literally takes NO effort.. except for shaking it every few days.  I put mine on the window still.. that way every time I wash dishes I remember.

Eat Oranges – save your peels

Put the peels in your Mason Jar, you can add each day to the jar.

Top the Jar with Vinegar, push those peels down – if you eat oranges daily just keep adding those peels to the jar

Put the lid on, let it sit.

Shake the jar every day or few days, let it sit for 2-3 weeks.

Open up the Mason Jar, and strain out the liquid, add to a spray bottle (I used the one above – $1.22 regular price at Walmart and $.72 after iBotta – then an old Windex Bottle topper fits perfect)

Pour the Liquid into your Jar – use a Funnel (we have plenty in the garage) & top off with water

The Vinegar smell won’t disappear completely but it will be masked quite a bit with the Orange scent. You can use this to clean your home – I clean my sofas (leather) with the solution and it works super.

You can also use it for the bathroom counters, we use it to clean out the truck too (Dash and Seats).
