The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

Gift Basket Contents…..Revealed!

Gifts

Time for the BIG reveal!  The other day, I displayed a picture of the Gift Baskets I made for the gals in Dave’s family – for Christmas gifts.  I put a picture…but I did not reveal the contents, for fear that they would read it and know ahead of time what they were going to get (YIKES!)

So here is a complete list of the items I gathered in 2010 towards my “Christmas H&B mission” – keep in mind I wasn’t super serious about gathering, I just gathered here & there from July onward :)  The prices next to the product are the retail value, not what I paid, and I made a total of 3 Women’s and 3 Men’s Baskets.

For the ladies in the family:

1 St. Ives Body Lotion ($2)
1 Olay Regenerist Cleansing Cloths ($5.49 ea.)
1 Olay Cleansing Scrub ($6.29 ea.)
1 Febreze Luminary ($14.99 ea.)
1 Olay Anti-Aging Bodywash ($6.49 ea.)
3 Febreze Luminary Refills ($5.49 ea.)
1 Mirra Pouf ($1)
1 Oral-B Rechargeable Toothbrush ($11.69 ea.)
1 Caress Body Wash ($3.75 ea.)
1 Glade 10 oz Soy Candle ($10.00 ea.)
1 L’Oreal Lash Boosting Serum ($12.49 ea.)
1 Olay 6-pk Soap ($5 ea. +)
1 Neutrogena Beauty Essentials ($5 ea.)
1 Air Wick Candle ($3 ea.)
1 Revlon Emery Boards ($1.00 ea.)
1 L’Oreal Go Cleanser ($5.99 ea. +)
1 Pair Slippers from JC Penny ($10.99 ea.)
1 Pond Cleansing Cloths ($5.49 ea.)
1 Secret Deoderant ($2.49 ea.)
1 International Cafe Coffee ($3.49 ea.)
1 Febreze Set & Refresh ($2.49 ea.)

Whew. Gosh…….  that’s a whole lotta stuff.  Now….to tally what I paid? Going down the list I can say I paid $6.50. WOWsa. The majority of everything was either free after coupon, OR, free after rebate (FAR), or a slight moneymake after rebate.

The husband’s of the 3 ladies I gave baskets to also got a gift: a MANLY MAN pail. The pail I got at the Dollar Tree for $1 – and is perfect for them to wash their car. Ha ha :) I love to give multi-purpose items.

Not everything is pictured!

This is what was in the manly man bucket:

1 Schick Razor ($8.99)
1 Thermacare ($2)
1 Gillette Hydro Gel ($2.99)
1 Nescafe Tasters Choice Stick Pack ($1)
1 Oral-B Rechargeable Toothbrush ($11.69)
1 8-pk Lever 2000 ($3.75 ea.)
1 Emerald Nuts ($1.49)
1 Wonka Exceptionals ($2)
3 McCormick Grinders ($1 ea.)
1 Lawry’s Marinade or BBQ Sauce (Famous Dave’s) ($1 ea.)
1 Armor All ($5.49)
1 Stetson (Papa only!)
1 Deodorant ($4.49 ea.)
1 Toothpaste, Crest ($1 ea.)
1 International Cafe Coffee ($3.49 ea.)
1 Febreze Set & Refresh ($2.49 ea.)
1 Vaseline for Men ($2.49 ea.)
1 Energizer Flashlight ($1.29 ea.)
1 Ricola Cough Drops ($1 ea.)
1 Mr. Clean Auto Car Wash Kit ($8-$10) <–got this at CVS for 50 CENTS!
1 26-pocket Tool Bucket Holder ($10.00 ea.)

Whew.  If I had to look at the stuff above I can honestly guesstimate that I paid around $7-$7.50 for each bucket.

I love these gifts…because they have a purpose – they save the recipient money for 3-4 months – or, however long the product lasts.

So in 2011, I’m determined to do BIGGER and BETTER! And, to help YOU do the same!  We’re going to call this our Christmas “Health & Beauty” Mission.

Nice work! they are going to love them. :) Merry Christmas! I made couples baskets instead of doing separate ones and they turned out awesome. I tallied all my stuff up and each couples basket ran me around $8 and each has approx $60 retail. Thanks for all your help these past few months. You really have made a big difference in my life and my Budget!!

That is so cool. I gave some of the things I've been getting free or cheap as Christmas presents and I think they were a hit. It's kind of fun to see how much you can give for such a little amount of money.

When I call and tell my family what I got and how much I got it for they freak out so sharing with them is so much fun. This is the best idea, can’t wait. Thanks for all you do!
