The Lava River Cave is just 30 minutes away from Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave itself was formed 700,000 years ago - at that time, molten lava erupted out of nearby Harts Prairie. The cave was founded in 1915 by lumbermen in the area.

Carrington College (Mesa): FREE Dental Care for Kids through September!

Health and Dental

14771

I will preface by letting you know I took my 4 year old to the dentist late last year…  You don’t want to know the outcome. It took me a while to get over that appointment. Several days later I got a HUGE bill in the mail. I was like "What the heck is this?? Helloooooo….I mean, we pay through the NOSE for dental. And she was THREE TIMES what my payment was….."

Now I know why my parents never took us to the dentist. Mom used to say "Don’t eat that gumball, I can’t afford to take you to get your tooth fixed if it breaks….." -hahaha! We thought she was cheap…. little did we know dental was so pricey.

Anyways, I got this great info from a reader today. Worth a read…

Through September, kids ages 3-17 can get free dental care through September at Carrington College’s dental clinic. Services, conducted by supervised students in the college’s dental hygiene program, include X-rays, cleaning and polishing.

  • 5 p.m. -8:30 p.m. Mondays
  • 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesdays
  • 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesdays
  • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursdays & Fridays

The clinic is located at 1300 S. Country Club Drive, Suite 2, Mesa.  Appointments can be made at 480-717-3510.

Thanks Bev!

I took my kids here a while back and they were awesome! Even did the seals on my daughters teeth for free!

Are you kidding? That’s awesome. I stopped paying for dental. that’s one area the military does not cover unfortunately, so we just don’t go — which is not good either. I’m taking my daughter to this – her teeth need fillings Like FIVE fillings. :-/

They don’t do fillings :( They don’t do anything where they would have to numb youup or drill. Other than that they are great and also service adults for like $35 I think. Super cheap basic family dental!

I wish they had this when I was a kid. Once I needed nine fillings at once. My mother practically had a stroke!

I know the feeling with dental & the military! I haven’t been in years! I really need to go myself to get a cleaning, my wisdom teeth out, & I think even a root canal! It’s so expensive, so I’ve been putting it off..guess I will just have to make payments :(

My sister takes her kids and her hubby to a dental school for their braces. We are lucky enough to have decent dental insurance. They paid 50% on the kids braces(2 kids at once–YIKES).

Made an appointment for my son and niece. Worried about my just turned 4 year old as she might freak out in the chair. We do not have dental but hope I have harped enough on the kids to brush well. Anyone have any suggestions for a 4 year old or when to take.
