Earlier in the year, I developed the Savings Spreadsheet to help you track your savings. We had a very generous reader, Patricia, do some adjustments to make it even grander.
The “Savings Spreadsheet” has 14 worksheets. The first worksheet is named “Annual Summary”. This sheet is a roll up of the 12 monthly worksheets. You need not touch ANYTHING in the Annual Sheet. It has all been automatically programmed for you. When you fill in the monthly worksheets, you will only fill in the highlighted area only.
The last sheet is a rebates tracker – so you can track your rebate status. Head HERE to download the sheet – it should open fine for you. I created it in Excel and saved it as an Excel Macro Enabled Workbook. To edit it yourself, or input numbers, you will need to re-save it with an alternative name on your desktop.
It helps you gauge what you are spending..and most importantly – saving. I know many of you are using that money saved for various things – this should be a motivator:

We are considering paying a little extra on our mortgage every month. So last night I pulled up a payment calculator, and found out that if we pay an extra $200 a month it will take 11 YEARS off of our loan!!!! Holy cow! I am re-motivated to coupon now :D
I’ll tell you that Dave & I are using our savings for Student Loans. My Army time did pay for school, but mid-way through my Masters. For some reason, I decided to start second Masters a few years ago (which I’m half done with) and there sit those loans – which are not fun to pay…… Going to school is not cheap – which is why (now) I am so stuck on a college fund for my kiddos.
Needless to say, after we finish with those our money is going in the bank for a house – lets hope we can make that happen.
How are you doing on your savings goals? Feel free to share — so we can cheer you on.
My husband and I started doing the Dave Ramsey baby steps. We are working on the small emergency fund right now. It’s slow going for us right now but I’m not going to give up. I’m hoping to have enough money saved up within the next 3 yrs to buy a house.
I have been really keeping up with logging everything into my spread sheet. We have saved so much since Jan. We plan on going camping in Aug for 9 days with the money we have been saving from using coupons and getting great deals! We have not been away for 3 years. We can’t wait to take the kids camping and enjoy each other.
