Caramelized Pecan and Sea Salt Fudge - a decadent and rich fudge that comes together easily with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for the holiday season!
In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together the sugar, the water, and half a teaspoon of sea salt until dissolved.
Let this syrup cook without stirring until a rich golden color, then remove from heat.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip each pecan half in the caramel (or toss all together in a bowl). Put the individual pecan halves on the baking sheet and let cool until hardened.
Melt the chocolate chips with your method of choice (double boiler, microwave).Stir together the melted chocolate, condensed milk, and the rest of the sea salt. Pour into an 8 x 8 baking pan lined with parchment and smooth out the top.
Press pecan halves in rows and columns (here I used 4x5) making it the center of each piece. Garnish with a bit more sea salt if desired.
Let rest until set, chilling in the fridge if in a hurry. Slice the fudge into squares and serve.
