- 2 cloves garlic peeled, lightly crushed
 - 1 C Dr. Pepper
 - 3/4 C  ketchup
 - 3 Tbsp  Worcestershire sauce
 - 1 Tbsp hot sauce
 - 1 Tbsp  molasses
 - 1 Tbsp brown sugar
 - 1  Tbsp  cider vinegar or more to taste
 - 1 tsp liquid smoke
 - 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
 - 1/2 tsp salt or more to taste
 
 
Place all ingredients in a heavy, non-reactive saucepan and gradually bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce the heat slightly; simmer gently until thick and flavored, about 15 minutes. Taste for seasoning, adding additional spices as necessary.
Pour the sauce into a clean glass jar and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate, covered, until serving.
The sauce will keep for several months in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature before serving.
