If you have been reading my site for the last few years, you may have seen me occasionally my homemade cleaner recipes, and other random posts about my experience with Essential Oils.
This past year, after my youngest was born, I had a new experience that I did not have with the 3 older siblings. After Eliora turned 6 months, my body returned back to it’s monthly cycle much faster than the others – normally that would be accepted, but this time around it came at a bad time – as a nursing mom, it led to much less (and almost no) milk production.
Because I was not open to using formula for my children, it was important for me to breastfeed at least until the age of 1, if not much longer. .. but this was affecting that quite largely. I was so frustrated with myself, she was frustrated with me because she couldn’t get the milk she needed – and I knew that I needed to do something to fix that… so I reached out to my friend Alyssa … through Facebook messenger (as that’s just the easiest way).
Why did I reach out to her? Because she has 3 kids and she breastfed so I felt comfortable asking her – not only that, she and I have been close for quite a few years.
Alyssa talked to me about an Essential Oil that might help stimulate my milk to come back (Fennel) – since that was an option I went with it (a little skeptical I have to admit)… never tried it but then I had never had problems breastfeeding – in fact In the past I had usually had too MUCH milk.
She’s in Chandler, but she was nice enough to drive it over to my house in the far East Valley. Believe it or not….. 2 days later I was back to normal & baby was happy – but I’ll be honest, that was the longest 2 days of my life. (I will be honest by saying that because I have never had issues breastfeeding, this roller coaster ride of 2 days of uncontrollable lack of production made me feel extremely emotional – try explaining this to your husband, it was almost impossible).
Anyone who is familiar with Essential Oils knows that there are differences in quality – you can pick up lesser priced oils at the grocery store, and in some cases online stores – but most are non-therapeutic trade – which are not recommended for topical or internal use.
Fast forward a few months, this week, my youngest (now crawling) had BUMPS all over her belly & arms this past week. As much as I make my own household cleaners, this week I admit to stocking up on cheap Pine Sol with the iBotta & Coupon offers we had – and using it to mop my floor. Knowing it was either that or heat rash … I forewent using the Pine Sol Sunday and opted to stick with plain vinegar to mop – and her rash cleared up (so it wasn’t heat rash) – which told me that maybe I needed to ditch the Pine Sol and give to Dave’s mom – so yesterday when she was over I gave her every single bottle of commercial cleaner I had and told her to keep it.
Just a week after my first experience with the Fennel Oil, my friend Jennie and Rachel who blog introduced me to Young Living Oils so I could make my own cleaner – so I looked into them.. and since they had a great deal on oils at the time I decided to grab the entire kit – not just “one” oil here and there.
Young Living was the only company that has their own farms – and can guarantee that no pesticides or herbicides are using in growing their oil, they do their testing with their own equipment, and they are in charge of their own essential oil farming operations.
Even better, I knew that if I signed up under my friends that I could get a discount on my purchases (24%) – provided I purchase $50 In products per year (which I can do quite easily).
Unlike most folks, I take a non-traditional route to medical ailments – we (at least I) prefer to treat things on our own versus visiting the doctor – and it saves me SO much more.
I scored all of these oils (and MANY more)– my favorites:
Thieves Essential Oil Blend. For Colds, Flu, Sore Throat, Headaches, Toothaches and for Cleaning (Germs)
Lavender. Sunburn Relief, Bruises, Hives, Minor Burns.
Peppermint. Migraines, Fever, Nausea.
Valor Essential Oil Blend. Stress, Muscle Pain.
Peace & Calming. Anxiety, Relaxing, Tension, Hyperactivity.
What I’m excited about the most is Peace & Calming – Dave has very bad Anxiety from his deployment so I’m hoping that he will ditch the medicine he is on and will switch to the Oils to treat.
The starter kit I picked up had the popular oils – you can see what I scored in the chart below:
The best part of Young Living is that as a wholesale member I will score an awesome 24% discount on Young Living Oils as long as I spend $50 per year (or more).
Should you wish to pick up where I am and score Oils at Wholesale you need to buy a starter kit – my favorite starter kit is this one pictured below:
Head over here to their Young Living Page & enter your info
Make sure you check “Wholesale Member” (so you can score 24% off)
Make sure the Sponsor ID and Enroller ID say 1819107 (then I can send you a free reference guide)
If you wish to turn this into a business you can use your EIN from the IRS; otherwise, use your Social Security Number.
And pick up the starter kit of your choice – I opted for the Premium (which has the diffuser and all the oils) – if you pick the Premium Kit I’ll send you a really nice bound Essential Oil Reference Guide.
- Skip Step 3 (which is optional)
- Then I’ll send you an email about the great Facebook groups we have available – as part of the Oily Family where you can learn much more.
We share so MANY great resources and ideas for Essential Oils daily – from treating anxiety, stress, asthma, helping those who wish to stop smoking, to using the
For those of you who are looking to take a more natural route to your personal health, or every day life, they can be incorporate for so many things – we’re actually using them to treat Dave’s anxiety (in lieu of the medicine he uses so much) … and I’m hoping to see an improvement over the next few weeks.
Starting next week, we’ll start a NEW Series on using Essential Oil – I’ll be featuring ONE of MANY each week that you can use to make your own cosmetics, cleaning items, improve your allergies & more – so stay tuned to see how you can incorporate them in your daily life.
