Question on the soda deal- Buy 2 get 2 free plus one additional with JFU coupon. Could we use 2 of the free 12pk coke rewards coupons and get all 5 12 pks for almost free? I say almost free because I know there is a limit on the coke rewards coupon and Safeway soda is always ridiculously priced

If your store lets you. I tried it with the 2 coupons I got 3 weeks ago and they shot me down, but .. my store is pretty mean, yours might be better!

no – I am out in Queen Creek now so I hit the one on QC and Power. I was going to Ellsworth alot but the last few weeks we were so sick .. my in laws live next to Ells/Baseline but since we were sick we stayed home for a good two weeks. the one on Ellsworth has definitely improved, though I will say … some lady behind me in line screamed at me a few weeks ago when I took my coupons out..telling me that the problem with society today was “people like me” who have millions of kids (I only have 3?) and make no money to pay for our food. I was so humiliated, I refused to go back for weeks.

Omg! The nerve of some people! The problem with our society is people like her who assume they know everything about a person based off one thing! Its funny because Itoo hav had comments thrown my way by impatient customers, but Iknow they WISH they could get everything I’m getting at the price Iam paying!

Exactly. I paid less than $1, and she was so angry. The store had one checkout, 5 people behind her, and she just went on a rant. She was not from here.. she had a southern accent (she was traveling). But, because I dont dress up to go anywhere, and had 3 screaming kids, she treat me like I was lower class……. I was extremely humiliated, and haven’t really been there alot since then, it was extremely embarrassing. I get angry quickly, but since I had my kids, it wasn’t worth letting them see my frustration.

I agree! They never have any lines open at Safeway! And of course, when I go, they only have the express lines open so I feel like such a jerk and let a million people go in front of me. Safeway needs to get more cashiers on! Don’t let people like that get to you…she should be happy that you are not on welfare (though there is nothing wrong with those who are) and that you are “paying” for your groceries with your time and effort, ink, newspaper subscription (the paper is broke so couponers are definitely helping them) and the store gets cash for those coupons so you are also supporting the store.
That lady is just not smart enough to figure out coupons and it doesn’t matter how much money you have or don’t have…obviously she must not have much if she is doing her own grocery shopping and wasting her so precious time because time is money. And those that do have money, know how to keep it and are just as frugal as those who are not millionaires like us. I know you had your kids with you so not sure what I would have done either but if I were alone, I would have given her a sweet innocent smile along with the finger and not said a word…I then would have asked for stamps, ice and for someone to please get something that I forgot and made that witch wait longer.

I find the same issue with o nly one line open at safeway! I waited in line last week for fifteen minutes just for a price check on the kleenex because I didn’t. See a single other employee to ask!

I went to my Safeway today looking for some of the unadvertised deals and it was a bomb. There Pillsbury sweet rolls and crescent rolls where 2/$4 not $1. Then the Mahatma rice was only yellow saffron flavor, but was all gone anyways. I don’t want to sound dumb, but do the unadvertised deals vary for store to store?

I was at Safeway last night actually; my store had everything. The rice is the Yellow Bag – if they are out, someone has purchased it all.
The Pillsbury and Crescent are not the same as the 2/$4 – they are the 5 oz Cans, which are smaller; the smaller cans are really high up in the corner in the case, likewise if they are not there, they are out. My store had only 1 left…. and it was not tagged, the average person not really looking would never have seen it.
When i do the list of unadvertised items, it also comes with the understanding that yes, it will vary…. and unfortunately prices can change at any time. I dont suggest doing a trip just for those items; but I do know that many have already picked them up, because several on Facebook this morning already commented that they had a great trip last night and their trip included those items.

Just got back from Safeway and had a $2 off Hallmark coupon in my J4U. It took $2 off each card I bought (3) and I got the $5 catalina. So I paid .79 oop and got $5 onyo!

Not sure how this happened, but I bought 2 Campbell’s Go Soups last night at Safeway and got a $1.50 Catalina. Until tomorrow, they are $1.99 with the Just 4 U coupon, so after using 2 of the 50 cent coupons from the newspaper inserts, they ended up being just 24 cents each. My Safeway also has the 99 cent Reach floss & the Catalina printed for that deal too.
