I posted this a few months ago – it’s a great way to cure your stuffy sinus issue. I wake up every morning and (oddly) am ALWAYS stuffed up. I sneeze for about 1 hour, and use 1/2 box Kleenex, then I’m usually fine. I’m not sure why.. it’s very random, don’t you think?
I don’t know how many of you may have seen these little Vicks Discs that are made to clear up your nose… you use them in the shower. You pay pretty big money for them .. more than I’d pay anyways!
The commercial Vicks Disks steam up your shower and clean out your nose when you are sick. You can make them yourself – The only difference… I made a few big ones with my bigger muffin pan, and some small ones to use up some small cups I had left over from mini cupcakes. I’m sure they work just as well big or small – I just think the little ones are super cute.
Homemade Vicks Shower Tabs
Muffin Tin – Large or Small
To get started, mix 2-3 c. of Baking Soda to a mixing bowl – add water a little at a time until the soda feels like a paste/putty. You don’t want it to be too runny, but you don’t want it to be stiff either so you can use your judgment.
Then, add 10-12 drops of essential oil – I used Lavender, you can also use Eucalyptus… I actually had Eucalyptus and Peppermint left in my laundry pile so I used Eucalyptus to do mine.
Mix well and then spoon into your muffin-lined tins… let them sit out for 12-15 hours. After that point, throw on your shower floor when you take a shower and let the steam/oils do their magic!
If you are without Essential Oil, I highly recommend using Botanic Choice to pick some up – if you sign up for their Emails as a new subscriber they will send you a free shipping code (they did for me in the past) – you can grab oil as low as $4-5 ea.
